Like the Isle of Jersey, Guernsey isn’t STRICTLY in England; but it is a British Crown Dependency, which as far as I can tell basically means they manage their own business but if you invade them the UK will come after you. Isn’t this fantastically magically gorgeous?? It reminds me of South America (Quito, Ecuador; and the mountainous parts of Peru) with all the lush greenery and steeply dropping cliffs. Guernsey is a popular tourist destination 75 miles from the English Coast and easily reached by swimming. The less athletically inclined can take a ferry.
